Preferential Partner Selection in Evolutionary Labor Markets: A Study in Agent-Based Computational Economics
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper reports on computational experiments for an agent based computational economics ACE model of a labor market with choice and refusal of contractual partners and endogenously evolv ing work site behavior Three types of labor market structures are exam ined two sided markets comprising workers and employers partially uid markets comprising pure workers pure employers and agents capable of functioning both as workers and as employers and endogenous type mar kets in which each agent is capable of functioning as both a worker and an employer Particular attention is focused on experimentally determined correlations between market structure and the formation and evolution of contractual networks and between contractual network formation and the types of work site interactions and social welfare outcomes that these contractual networks support

Market Power Eeects in Evolutionary Labor Markets with Adaptive Search 1
Real-world labor markets are characterized by highly heterogeneous outcomes relative to observable heterogeneity in worker and employer attributes. Micro-foundation explorations of the possible sources of this outcome heterogeneity are diicult due to analytical intractability and data measurement problems. This study uses an agent-based computational economics model of a labor market to underta...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Evolutionary Game Theory in Agent-Based Computational Systems: OPEC Oil-Producing Countries
This study suggests a new method for analysing the behavioral economics issues in the framework of game theory. In this context, bounded rational agents interact with one another in a strategic manner. Therefore, conventional economic modeling techniques are unable to explaine this kind of interactions. In this regard, evolutionary game theory and agent-based modeling are known as the most suit...

This paper implements an approach to examine economic problems in which rational agents interact in dynamic markets. We use evolutionary game theory and agent-based modeling in tandem as a means to address intertemporal problems that display evolutionary attributes. This study examines the behavior of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in the global oil markets during the ...

This study reports on computational experiments for an agent-based labor market-model-with adaptive choice'and refusal of work site' partners and with endogenously evolving work site behaviors. Two treatment factors ^e experimentally varied: market structure; and ex ante capacity constraints on potential work offers and job openings.Particular attentions focused on experimentally determined cor...
متن کاملA Trade Network Game with Endogenous Partner Selection
This paper develops a Trade Network Game (TNG) that combines evolutionary game play with endogenous partner selection. Resource-constrained buyers and sellers choose and refuse trade partners on the basis of continually updated expected payoffs. Partner selection takes place in accordance with a “deferred choice and refusal” mechanism that is shown to have interesting stability, optimality, and...
